Your Questions Answered

We’ve gathered the questions our guests often ask, from choosing an experience and making a booking to facilities and what to expect at the House.

Head Therapy

Our Head Therapy, featuring before-and-after scalp health analysis, is a holistic hair and scalp ritual that combines deep dermal cleansing, exfoliation, botanical steam, a Halo Waterfall, and therapeutic acupressure massage. It revitalises the scalp ecosystem while promoting deep mental relaxation, think of it as a facial for your scalp. Every session concludes with a gentle speed dry, prioritising scalp health over heavy heat styling.

It clears impaction and sebum buildup, boosts micro-circulation to hair follicles, relieves cranial tension, and alleviates stress. Regular treatments encourage healthier hair growth, soothe scalp irritation, and relieve tension headaches.

For general maintenance and stress relief, once a month aligns perfectly with your natural scalp cell turnover cycle. Clients addressing specific concerns like dandruff, excess oiliness, or hair thinning may benefit from bi-weekly sessions initially.

It is ideal for anyone experiencing scalp dryness, oily buildup, itchiness, hair loss concerns, tension headaches, or chronic stress. It is also a fantastic self-care ritual for those seeking relaxation and improved hair vitality.  Our FLOAT Ritual truly leaves you feeling like you are floating on a cloud.

No special preparation is needed, and you do not need to wash your hair beforehand. Arriving with your hair in its natural state allows our microscopic camera to accurately assess your baseline oiliness, dryness, and scalp condition.

Side effects are rare and mild. You may experience temporary scalp redness or light tingling due to heightened micro-circulation and exfoliation. Mild detox reactions or temporary lightness from deep relaxation are also normal post-treatment.

We use premium, scalp-safe botanical formulations tailored to your specific scalp type, including gentle exfoliating scrubs and nourishing herbal rinses. To ensure the highest level of care for your hair, we also incorporate high-end professional products from leading brands like Moroccanoil, Olaplex, and Ouai, all selected to be free from harsh sulfates or parabens.

We want to make sure your experience is perfectly relaxing. To keep things safe and comfortable, we can not proceed if you have open scalp wounds, active eczema or psoriasis flare-ups, recent hair transplants (within 6 months), or severe neck issues. If you have bonded or tape-in extensions, it’s best to wait until they’re removed.  Head Therapy is perfect for in between Extension appointments.  Let us know if you’re pregnant, we can adjust our oils and bed settings to keep you cosy, we can not perform Head therapy during the first trimester.

Cold Water Therapy

An Ice Bath is a cold water immersion therapy where water is maintained between 4°C and 10°C (39°F to 50°F). It triggers a powerful systemic response that boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and trains the nervous system into a relaxed state.

Clients report faster muscle recovery, reduced soreness (DOMS), improved mental focus by spiking dopamine, better circulation through vasoconstriction, and stress resilience by training the nervous system under physical stress.

We recommend sessions of 2 to 5 minutes. Consistency is key; research suggests that achieving a total of 11 minutes per week, spread across multiple sessions, delivers the best metabolic and mental benefits. Our CWT is seamlessly integrated into many of our curated Rituals to help you achieve these optimal results.

It is ideal for athletes, fitness enthusiasts seeking muscle recovery, individuals wanting to build mental resilience and stress management, or anyone looking to boost metabolic health and dopamine levels.

Wear standard swimwear (avoid heavy cotton). Towels and robes are provided, so you only need to bring swimwear. During the plunge, prepare to focus on slow, deep exhalations through your mouth to control the shock response and lower your heart rate.

Initial cold shock response, shivering, or temporary skin redness are normal. To maximize brown-fat metabolic benefits and avoid sudden blood pressure shifts, we allow 10 to 15 minutes post-plunge before taking a hot shower.

While ice bathing is highly beneficial for most people, the intense cold places sudden stress on the cardiovascular system. Do not use it if you have severe cardiovascular disease or heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, open wounds or recent surgeries, Raynaud’s disease or cold hypersensitivity, a history of stroke or epilepsy, diabetes or neuropathy, or if you are pregnant. Consult a doctor if you have asthma or other respiratory conditions.

Steam Sauna

A Steam Sauna is an enclosed space heated by a steam generator to 40°C–50°C (104°F–122°F) at 100% humidity. Unlike dry saunas or light-based infrared saunas, it infuses soothing eucalyptus steam to hydrate skin and open respiratory pathways.

The high humidity and eucalyptus clear sinus congestion, hydrate skin, and soften pores for deep cleansing. It promotes muscle relaxation, improves circulation, and provides respiratory relief for bronchitis or dry coughs.

Sessions of 12-15 minutes are recommended, 2 to 3 times per week. It is vital to exit, cool down, and hydrate between sessions to maintain electrolyte balance and avoid overheating. Our Steam Sauna is seamlessly integrated into many of our curated Rituals to help you achieve these optimal results.

It is ideal for individuals seeking respiratory sinus relief, skin hydration, detoxing, or post-workout muscle relaxation.

Hydrate thoroughly before entering. Wear lightweight swimwear to allow the moist steam to contact your skin directly for maximum detoxification and hydration benefits.

Risks include dehydration, overheating (hyperthermia), and dizziness if sessions are prolonged. Avoid using the steam room during acute illness or after consuming alcohol.

We use pure, therapeutic-grade eucalyptus essential oil infused directly into high-purity steam generation systems.

Health Note: Unsuitable for individuals with severe asthma, low blood pressure, cardiovascular conditions, active rosacea, and pregnancy. The high heat and humidity cause rapid dilation of blood vessels, which can lead to dizziness or fainting in vulnerable guests.

Wood Therapy

Wood Therapy (Maderotherapy) is a holistic body-sculpting treatment using anatomically designed wooden tools to apply rhythmic pressure. It manipulates targeted areas to stimulate lymphatic drainage, break down localised fat, smooth cellulite, and tone skin.

Beyond body contouring and slimming, wood therapy effectively targets cellulite, improves skin texture, stimulates lymphatic drainage, flushes trapped fluids, and reduces abdominal bloating.

While you feel de-puffed immediately after one session, a series of 6-10 sessions scheduled 1 to 2 times per week yields optimal structural contouring and skin smoothing results. We offer a selection of Wellness Journeys that offer optimum results.

It is ideal for anyone seeking non-invasive body contouring, cellulite reduction, fluid de-puffing, or enhanced lymphatic detoxification.

Drink plenty of water beforehand to support fluid flow, and wear loose clothing. Afterwards, drink at least 2 liters of water so your kidneys and lymphatics can flush out mobilised fluids efficiently.

It involves firm, rhythmic pressure that should not be painful, but temporary mild redness, micro-circulation warmth, or minor skin sensitivity can occur post-treatment.

We use specially treated, smooth ergonomic Swedish wood instruments paired with high-quality body sculpting oils to allow fluid glide across tissue contours.

Health Note: Contraindicated for individuals with varicose veins (over affected areas), active blood clots, severe osteoporosis, kidney disease, open skin lesions, or those currently taking blood thinners. It is also unsuitable during pregnancy, and postpartum clients should wait 6-8 weeks (or obtain physician clearance following a C-section) before starting body sculpting.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised, ultra-gentle therapy using light, wave-like skin traction to move fluid toward main drainage nodes. It feels very light and relaxing, stretching initial lymphatic collectors just under the skin without manipulating muscle tissue.

MLD eliminates metabolic waste, balances fluids, clears hormonal bloating/PMS fluid retention, prevents post-operative fibrosis, reduces surgical bruising, and speeds up recovery after procedures like lipo.

For general maintenance, once a month is ideal. For acute fluid retention, post-flight swelling, or post-surgical recovery, weekly sessions for 3-4 weeks build long-term lymphatic health.  We offer a selection of Wellness Journeys that offer optimum results.

It is ideal for post-surgery/lipo clients (requires surgeon clearance), individuals with sluggish lymphatic flow, severe water retention, or those suffering from hormonal PMS bloating.

Post-surgical clients must obtain written clearance from their surgeon prior to starting. Drink plenty of water before and after treatment to assist metabolic clearing.

Increased urge to urinate and mild tiredness immediately after are normal signs that fluid filtration is working and the nervous system has shifted into deep rest.

MLD is performed dry or with minimal hypoallergenic, lightweight lotion to preserve exact skin-stretching traction needed for lymphatic capillaries.

Health Note: Strictly avoid MLD during active infection, acute fever, congestive heart failure, active blood clots (DVT), or unaddressed malignant tumors without medical clearance. Mobilising lymph fluid under these acute systemic conditions can overload impaired cardiovascular or renal networks.

Light & Infrared Therapy

Light & Infrared Therapy uses target wavelengths – including low-EMF Sunlighten SoloCarbon infrared heaters (available in cabin or lie-down Solo Domes) and CurrentBody flexible LED masks emitting Red (633nm) and Near-Infrared (830nm/1072nm) light – to warm core body temperature and fuel cellular skin regeneration without hot air discomfort.

Infrared saunas boost cellular detox, heavy metal flushing, muscle recovery, passive cardio burn, and immunity. The LED mask softens fine lines, firms sagging neck/facial skin, restores radiance, and reduces redness.

For optimal systemic detox and collagen synthesis, 2 to 3 sessions per week are recommended. Combining LED facial therapy immediately after an infrared sauna session maximises skin light absorption. Our Infrared Therapies are seamlessly integrated into many of our curated Rituals to help you achieve these optimal results.

It is ideal for anyone seeking systemic pain relief, cardiovascular conditioning, detoxing, fine line reduction, or non-invasive skin firming.

Drink plenty of water prior to your appointment. Wear minimal breathable swimwear or athletic shorts so light wavelengths penetrate skin directly. Your House Specialist will prep the skin prior to your treatment.

Infrared heat may cause mild dehydration or light-headedness if sessions are prolonged. LED light therapy is non-invasive, though rare skin sensitivity or temporary redness can occur in highly reactive individuals. Stay hydrated to minimise heat-related symptoms.

Health Note: Avoid if you have severe cardiovascular conditions, active infections, implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers), light-sensitivity disorders (e.g., Lupus, porphyria), uncontrolled high blood pressure, are taking photosensitising medications, or are pregnant. Infrared heat and concentrated LED light can interfere with implants, trigger sensitivity reactions, or cause over-heating in vulnerable tissue.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is a targeted bodywork manipulation using tailored pressure to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance wellness. Options range from Deep Tissue (targeting structural knots) to Somatic Relaxation (gentle flow soothing central nervous stress).

It releases chronic muscle knots, calms nervous fatigue, improves circulation, and unclamps jaw tension (TMJ) by relaxing neck, trap, and suboccipital muscles.

Every 2 to 4 weeks is ideal for preventing tension buildup. Bi-weekly sessions may be needed during periods of high physical strain or chronic muscle stiffness.

Anyone experiencing postural tightness, muscle knots, mental fatigue, or TMJ jaw clenching. Clients with chronic nerve pain or Fibromyalgia benefit from our lighter Somatic Relaxation flow to avoid triggering pain flares.

Arrive hydrated and avoid heavy meals right before your session. Undress to your comfort level; you will remain professionally draped with warm sheets throughout, exposing only the active muscle group being treated.

Mild muscle soreness or fatigue for 24-48 hours post-treatment is normal as chronic tension and lactic acid release. Stay hydrated and take warm Epsom salt baths to aid muscle recovery.

We use high-quality, hypoallergenic, naturally scented massage oils and lotions that are non-comedogenic and deeply nourishing. Please inform us of any known skin allergies when booking.

Health Note: Inform us if you have localised blood clots, unhealed fractures, severe osteoporosis, contagious skin conditions, or if you are in your first trimester of pregnancy. Direct pressure over fragile bone or compromised vascular tissue can cause severe injury or dislodge thrombi.

Vibration Plate Therapy

Vibration Plate Therapy uses high-frequency whole-body micro-oscillations to force rapid muscle contractions, enhance circulation, boost bone density, and accelerate lymphatic drainage in short, quiet sessions.

Rapid micro-oscillations stimulate lymphatic drainage, boost circulation, wake up sluggish legs, increase bone density, and enhance joint stability over time.

Sessions are kept to 10–15 minutes, 2 to 3 times per week, to effectively stimulate tissues without causing overexposure, muscular fatigue, or mild dizziness. Our VPT is seamlessly integrated into many of our curated Rituals.

It is low-impact and accessible for all fitness levels, making it ideal for anyone wanting low-effort circulation improvements, lymphatic fluid movement, or bone density support.

No special prep needed. Wear grip socks or stand bare foot so oscillations transfer directly (thick athletic soles dampen vibrations). Keep knees slightly bent to absorb shock, or rest legs on the plate while seated.

Overuse or improper posture can cause mild dizziness or muscular fatigue. Keeping sessions within 10–15 minutes prevents strain.

Health Note: Strictly avoid if you have recent joint replacements, pacemakers, active gallstones/kidney stones, acute hernia, retinal detachment, advanced diabetes, or if you are pregnant. High-frequency mechanical oscillations can shift internal implants or trigger stone movement.

Note on Lower Back/Disc Issues: If you have acute spinal disc herniation or severe sciatica, micro-vibrations can aggravate nerve root inflammation; obtain medical clearance prior to booking.

Foot Therapy

Foot Therapy combines botanical soaking, gentle cleansing, lower-leg lymphatic drainage, and firm pressure point reflexology across sole nerve endings to stimulate pathways and soothe the body.

It sends calming signals across the nervous system, stimulates organ energy flow, flushes ankle fluid retention upward, relieves heavy swollen lower limbs, and bypasses ticklish reflexes via firm grounding pressure.

Monthly sessions maintain circulation and lower-leg comfort, while bi-weekly sessions help relieve chronic ankle fluid swelling or prolonged standing fatigue.

Anyone with swollen ankles, lower-leg fatigue, high stress, or ticklish feet (firm pressure avoids tickling). Diabetics can participate using gentle calibrated pressure for neuropathy support.

No advance preparation is required. Every ritual begins with a warm botanical foot soak and purifying cleanse to soften tissues. Diabetics or those with neuropathy should notify their specialist beforehand.

You may experience temporary mild fatigue or an increased urge to urinate as fluid is mobilised. Hydrate with plenty of water post-treatment to flush fluids.

We utilise soothing herbal salts, essential oil blends, and rich nourishing balms designed to hydrate skin and boost circulation.

Health Note: Unsuitable for clients with active deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the legs, foot/ankle fractures, severe gout flares, open fungal infections, or during the first trimester of pregnancy. Pressure applied across lower limb vascular channels risks dislodging deep clots or exacerbating acute joint pain in gout-affected tissue. Additionally, pressure point massage stimulates specific uterine pressure points that must be avoided in early pregnancy.
